A look at many of the amazing kimonos that were on display in Kyoto during the Golden Week of 2013. This video starts and Yasaka Jinja (Shrine) on the border of the GION district and passes by the Yasaka Pagoda and the famous Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka staircases. The final destination is one of the most famous temples in Japan, the Kiyomizu-dera.
It's a pretty place, and it is not only the temple, but the amazing garden that surrounds it.
I took this video kind of slow as the place itself needs to be seen to be experienced.
TheKinkaku-ji (金閣寺 "Temple of the Golden Pavilion"), officially named Rokuon-ji (鹿苑寺 "Deer Garden Temple"), is a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto, Japan.
On 11 March 2011 there was a massive 9.0 earthquake that generated a tsunami and combined to kill thousands.
Only seven people died in Tokyo, but two did so in the building I was in at the time.
This video was taken while the quakes were still rocking the city and is the only record of that day.
